The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
If you’re a fan of Harry Potter, you’ll be enchanted by the immersive atmosphere and magical food offerings in this section of the park.
Butterbeer
One of the most iconic treats in Universal Studios Hollywood is undoubtedly Butterbeer. This magical drink is a must-try for fans of the series and newcomers alike.
Served both cold and frozen, Butterbeer is a sweet, frothy beverage with hints of butterscotch and shortbread.
You can find Butterbeer in multiple locations within Hogsmeade, including the Three Broomsticks and the Hog’s Head Pub.
For those wanting a twist on this classic, there’s also Hot Butterbeer available during the colder months, which is perfect for warming up on a cool evening and a festive option for those who love Christmas at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Three Broomsticks
For a more substantial meal, head to the Three Broomsticks, a rustic, cozy tavern straight out of the Harry Potter films. The menu offers British pub-style food, which complements the wizarding theme.
The Fish and Chips here are crispy, flavorful, and some of the best you’ll find in the park.
Another standout is the Roast Chicken Platter, which comes with juicy chicken, roasted potatoes, and fresh vegetables.
For those with heartier appetites, the Ribs Platter is a crowd favorite, offering tender ribs that are smoky and delicious.
The English Breakfast served only in the morning, is a great way to start your day at the park and a nice reminder of home for us (we’re British living in the US).
Pumpkin Pasties and Cauldron Cakes
Beyond Butterbeer, the Wizarding World offers a variety of sweet treats inspired by the Harry Potter series.
The Pumpkin Pasties, a flaky pastry filled with a rich, spiced pumpkin filling, are a fall favorite.
Meanwhile, the Cauldron Cakes are a decadent dessert. with rich chocolate cake molded into the shape of a cauldron.
Springfield, U.S.A.: A Simpsons Feast
If you’re a fan of The Simpsons, then Springfield, U.S.A. is a must-visit for a comical and enjoyable dining experience.
From Homer’s favorite pink donuts to Krusty the Clown’s famous burgers, Springfield offers a mix of comfort foods that cater to every visitor; making this a great choice for families.
Lard Lad Donuts
When visiting the land, begin by heading to Lard Lad Donuts for one of their iconic oversized pink donuts. These giant, perfectly glazed pastries are Instagram-worthy and delicious. The Big Pink Donut is large enough to share with a few friends and is a fun treat to nibble on while exploring the park.
Krusty Burger
For a more substantial meal, head to Krusty Burger. This is a popular stop for fans looking to enjoy a good burger.
The Krusty Burger is a decent burger with a tasty special sauce but also a fun fast-food experience if you love the show.
Another option is the Clogger Burger, a double-patty burger with bacon and cheese.
We also love the chili cheese fries here, they can make for a great snack to share as you are exploring the park.
Luigi’s Pizza
For those in the mood for pizza, Luigi’s Pizza offers some of the best pizza in the park. The slices are large, with a chewy crust and toppings like pepperoni, sausage, or classic cheese.
Is it the best, most authentic Italian pizza in the world? No. But it is the perfect grab-and-go option for families or anyone looking for a quick bite as you explore.
Moe’s Tavern
Step into Moe’s Tavern, a faithful recreation of the watering hole from the TV series.
Here, you can sip on a Duff Beer, the fictional brew of choice in The Simpsons.
It’s available in two versions: Duff (a light lager) and Duff Dry (a darker stout).
For non-alcoholic options, the Flaming Moe is a must-try—this fizzy, bubbling drink arrives smoking and is a fun way to cool off on a hot day; make sure to take your pictures quickly though as the smoke and fizz do calm down after a few minutes.
Studio Café
Located near the Studio Tour, Studio Café offers a sit-down and health-conscious menu compared to the more indulgent options around the park.
This is the place to go if you’re looking for a lighter fare or a slightly quieter experience.
Fresh Salads and Sandwiches
The café serves a variety of fresh salads and sandwiches, perfect for those looking for a lighter meal. The Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad is a standout, with crisp romaine, savory grilled chicken, and a rich Caesar dressing.
If you prefer a sandwich, the Turkey Club is a solid choice, with layers of turkey, crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on hearty bread.
Vegetarian and Vegan Options
Studio Café also caters to vegetarians and vegans with options like the Vegan Buddha Bowl, which includes quinoa, roasted vegetables, and a flavorful tahini dressing.
I am not a vegetarian but I actually love their plant-based Impossible Burger!
Minion Café
Inspired by the mischievous Minions from the Despicable Me franchise, Minion Café is a fun and whimsical spot with a menu that appeals to both kids and adults.
Grilled Cheese with Meatball Sandwich
This unique twist on a classic sandwich is a fan favorite at the Minion Café. With melted cheese and meatballs on hearty bread, this is a perfect meal for all the family but also a great option for couples to share if they want something light.
Chicken Bacon Ranch Mac & Cheese
For something hearty and comforting, the Chicken Bacon Ranch Mac & Cheese is an excellent choice. It’s creamy, rich, and topped with crispy bacon and tender pieces of chicken.
Minion-Themed Desserts
Let’s face it, the reason WE go do the Minin Cafe is for the fun, quriky desserts.
From the Minion Banana Pudding to Minion Cupcakes, they are all adorable and almost too cute to eat!
Jurassic Café
Located in the Jurassic World section of the park, Jurassic Café offers a varied menu inspired by Central American and Caribbean cuisine.
The setting, nestled next to the thrilling Jurassic World – The Ride, adds an adventurous twist to the dining experience.
Costa Rican-Inspired Plates
The Mojo Pork Plate is a standout at Jurassic Café, featuring slow-roasted pork served with fresh rice, black beans, and plantains.
Another great option is the Roasted Mahi-Mahi Plate; which is grilled fish seasoned with rice and beans. The balance of flavors makes this a healthy and satisfying choice.
Dulce de Leche Tres Leches Cake
For dessert, try the Dulce de Leche Tres Leches Cake, a sweet, moist cake soaked in milk and caramel, topped with whipped cream. This is a little decadent though so maybe avoid the fast-paced rides after eating this one!
Hollywood & Dine
Located in the Upper Lot, Hollywood & Dine offers a variety of international dishes, making it a great spot for those looking to try something different.
The Orange Chicken is a popular choice, and the Teriyaki Beef Bowl is perfect for noodle lovers.
If you’re craving Italian, Hollywood & Dine also serves classic dishes like Spaghetti with Meatballs and Fettuccine Alfredo.
Super Nintendo World
At Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Hollywood, the standout dining experience is at Toadstool Café, themed after the iconic Mushroom Kingdom. The menu blends fun, creativity, and Nintendo-inspired designs, offering meals and desserts that are both tasty and Instagram-worthy.
Here are some of the best items to try:
Mario’s Bacon Cheeseburger: A juicy bacon cheeseburger with a mushroom-themed bun, served with truffle fries. It’s a flavorful, hearty option for burger lovers.
Luigi’s Pesto Chicken Burger: A grilled chicken sandwich with pesto sauce and a green bun, matching Luigi’s signature color. It offers a lighter, herbaceous alternative to the Mario burger.
Super Star Chicken Salad: For a healthier choice, the Super Star Salad is a great choice. This includes mixed greens, grilled chicken, and fresh vegetables, topped with a star-shaped crouton for a bit of Nintendo flair.
Piranha Plant Caprese: A fun twist on the classic caprese salad. The dish comes shaped like the Piranha Plant from the Mario games, with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil.
Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots: These garlic knots are shaped like Toad’s mushroom cap, soft, cheesy, and served with marinara sauce.
Question Block Tiramisu: One of the most popular desserts. This comes in a cube that looks like a question block from the Mario series. It’s rich and creamy, a delightful treat for fans of tiramisu.
Princess Peach Cupcake: A sweet cupcake adorned with Princess Peach’s crown and pink frosting. It’s a light and colorful dessert option.
Power-Up Spaghetti Marinara: A classic spaghetti dish served with a fun, Mario-themed twist.
CityWalk
While technically outside the park, CityWalk offers plenty of dining options that shouldn’t be missed, especially for those staying nearby or wanting to eat a meal before leaving the area.
Chains like Margaritaville, Bubba Gump Shrimp, and Blaze pizza can all be found here, as can The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium; home to some of the best milkshakes and Chocolate bread around.
For fans of Mexican cuisine, Antojitos Cocina Mexicana offers authentic and delicious dishes like Street Tacos, Carne Asada, and fresh Guacamole made tableside. This is our number 1 stop when we are in CityWalk.
For Italian food (and half-pound meatballs), check out Bucca di Beppo, one of the more popular resturants in the area. Dongpo Kitchen offers some tasty Sichuanese food from China while Vivo Italian Kitchen is another decent place for pizza, pasta, and bread.
For quick bites, you can pick up a snack or meal from the various themed spots, like The Hello Kitty and Friends Cafe or The Crepe Cafe. I always love stopping by Mini Monster for boba tea or picking up a hot dog from Pink’s.
For dessert, you have to head for doughnuts. Voodoo Doughnut is known for its quirky and creative doughnuts, with offerings like the Voodoo Doll, a doughnut-shaped voodoo doll filled with raspberry jelly, and the Maple Bacon Bar, topped with crispy bacon.
These are our favorite places to eat while in Universal Studios Hollywood but what are yours? Letus know in the comments!
