These best rides at Universal Studios Singapore are fun, themed and range for all thrill levels. We share the best the park has to offer!
Universal Studios Singapore is known for its exciting attractions, themed lands, and an immersive experience that brings some of Hollywood’s biggest franchises to life. Located on Sentosa Island, the park is divided into seven themed zones; it is small enough to see in a day but is one of our favourite theme parks in Asia.
There aren’t as many rides at Universal Studios Singapore as there are in other Universal parks around the world but that doesn’t stop the theme park being a fun option during a visit to Singapore, so let’s start this coaster!
Best rides at Universal Studios Singapore
Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs. CYLON in Sci-Fi City
Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs. CYLON is one of the most iconic and exhilarating rides in Universal Studios Singapore, featuring two high-speed dueling roller coasters based on the hit sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica.
With the HUMAN and CYLON tracks, riders experience two very different thrill levels.
The HUMAN coaster, represented by a red track, is a seated roller coaster that provides a fast, high-speed chase with sharp twists and turns. If you are a nervous coaster rider, this may be a better option.
The CYLON coaster, represented by a blue track, is an inverted roller coaster where riders’ legs dangle freely as they experience inversions, corkscrews, and loops, creating a more intense experience.
The ride’s sci-fi theme and impressive speed of up to 90 km/h, making it a thrilling experience for adrenaline junkies. This is the most exhilarting ride at Universal Studios Singapore so make it your top priority.
TRANSFORMERS: The Ride – The Ultimate 3D Battle
Also located in Sci-Fi City is the TRANSFORMERS: The Ride; a next-generation 3D dark ride. This is a motion simulation which takes riders into the world of Autobots and Decepticons.
The story follows EVAC, a transforming Autobot, as he joins forces with Optimus Prime and Bumblebee to protect the AllSpark from the villainous Megatron.
This ride is highly immersive, with cutting-edge visual effects and intense sequences that make riders feel like they are part of an actual Transformers battle. Guests wear 3D glasses as they board the motion-based ride vehicle, which moves seamlessly through a series of screens displaying 3D-rendered action scenes.
This is a great option for fans of the Transformers movies but also a fun ride for the whole family. We don’t LOVE coasters as much but these simulation rides are great alternatives for the more fearful riders.
Revenge of the Mummy
Within the Ancient Egypt land, you will find the Revenge of the Mummy dark ride. This is an indoor ride (offering plenty of aircon on those hot days), inspired by The Mummy film franchise.
Combining elements of horror, thrills, and special effects, the ride plunges guests into an ancient Egyptian tomb where they must escape from the vengeful spirit of Imhotep.
Taking place in complete darkness makes this ride even more thrilling, with unexpected turns, drops, and sudden bursts of fire.
Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure
As you move around the park, you can explore The Lost World; a fully themed area based on the Jurassic Park franchice. Here, you find the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure; a thrilling water ride that takes guests through a scenic river jungle.
This attraction has a relaxed beginning but quickly escalates into an action-packed escape as riders find themselves caught in a restricted area where dinosaurs have broken free.
The highlight of the ride is its intense finale: after narrowly escaping various dinosaur encounters, including a terrifying confrontation with a Tyrannosaurus rex, riders are sent plunging down a steep chute into the water below.
This is a fun take on your traditional log flume ride and a great option for families.
Canopy Flyer
Also located in The Lost World, The Canopy Flyer is an aerial ride that gives guests a bird’s-eye view of The Lost World.
This suspended roller coaster is designed to mimic the experience of flying through a prehistoric jungle, complete with dinosaur sightings and lush scenery.
Riders sit in two pairs facing either forward or backward as the coaster takes them on a high-speed loop above the park. It sounds scary but is actually a fairly calm, short ride with the stunning views above the park being a highlight.
Puss In Boots’ Giant Journey
Far Far Away is one of our favorite themed areas and here, you cain find another one of the bet rides at Universal Studios Singapore.
Puss In Boots’ Giant Journey is a charming roller coaster ride that features the beloved character from the Shrek series. This junior coaster takes riders on an adventure through giant beanstalks as Puss In Boots and Kitty Softpaws embark on a mission to retrieve golden eggs from a giant’s castle.
The ride is perfect for families and younger guests, offering a good balance of mild thrills and engaging storytelling. You can expect a few swoops and curves but nothing to scary for younger riders.
Enchanted Airways
Also in Far Far Away is another junior coaster inspired by the Shrek films; Enchanted Airways.
Riders board a dragon-themed train and embark on a fun journey that offers a mix of gentle twists and turns. The ride’s backstory follows a fairy-tale express service run by Donkey, Shrek’s sidekick, and is filled with humorous elements that fans of the films will recognize.
Enchanted Airways is a perfect family-friendly coaster, offering just the right amount of thrill for younger riders or those who may not be ready for bigger roller coasters.
Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase
Another one of the best rides in Universal Studios Singapore is Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase, located in the New York land. This is an indoor dark ride that follows the lovable character Elmo on a mission to recover all the stolen spaghetti from the villainous Macaroni the Merciless.
The ride’s gentle pace and fun storyline partnered with an upbeat soundtrack, make it suitable for younger guests, especially those who are fans of Sesame Street.
Accelerator
We can’t discuss the best rides at Universal Studios Singapore without mentioning one of my favorite classics; Accelerator. This is a classic spinning teacup ride with sci-fi theming, located in Sci-Fi City.
Guests board futuristic pods that spin around, and riders can control the intensity of their spin by turning the wheel in the center of each pod; similar to most teacup rides.
This ride is especially fun for families and those who enjoy spinning rides but prefer something a bit more interactive. Unlike other rides that rely on sudden drops or high speeds, the Accelerator provides a customizable thrill level, making it a versatile option within the park.
Universal Studios Singapore boasts a diverse collection of rides that cater to guests of all ages and thrill levels. Each themed land offers a unique collect of rides, shows and shops with an immersive experience, so on your next trip to Singapore, make sure to visit this fun park.
